Click here to go to this page at new linkSports???Since I'm into honesty. I'll be right up front with this. I hate televised sports. I'm just not into the stuff. I'll pretty much jump at the chance to go fishing and I'm really looking forward to getting back into weight training. Weight TrainingI was forced to drop the sport about 16 years ago but I'm slowly starting to get back into it. It would be great to find someone that is also interested in the sport. It was one of the best periods of my life. I felt great. I looked better. But mostly I just enjoyed the workouts. It would be cool to be able to set up with the basics to workout at home again. It's one of those things that you do for yourself that need not cost a whole lot of money, or time, or commitment - if you enjoy it... I even drove truck for a few years... That’s right, one of those rare creatures in the early and mid 80’s a lady truck driver! Hefting two or three 50-pound sacks of feed on my shoulder was an everyday task. *sigh* one of the jobs that I actually liked (too bad the company that I worked for was such a joke). I have no idea if I can get back into that kind of shape again, maybe not, after so many years. I'd like to give it a shot though... But that isn't the point, the point is to enjoy an activity that is healthy and gives a feeling of accomplishment. That makes you smile when you are done. I am the first to admit that I got really involved. I would spend 2 to 3 hours a day working out, 7 days a week. I had a 3-way split routine that really worked well for me. I don't have that kind of time, anymore, to devote to any one thing. But, I could see myself working up to about an hour a day again. I have a great appreciation for anyone that is able to concentrate on their own well being enough to work out. There is a difference, to me, between someone that is doing it 'to look good' for other folks and those that do it to feel good for themselves. I did it to feel good. Fishing and CampingI love fishing and camping even though it's been years since I've been able to do either. I was so bad that I had my canoe up on top of my car all summer long so that I could go fishing anytime that I wanted to. When it was no longer practical to carry the canoe with me I got pretty good at shore fishing on area lakes. I'm a bait caster, never really got into trolling. I guess I just don't like the sound and smell of the motor much.
Oh, and if you're
curious.. not only can I bait my own hook. I can take the fish off the hook and
clean them, too! Can even cook them up over a fire... hehehe If I don't plan on eating my catch I practice catch and
release. Even though I love fresh fish cooked over a fire sometimes I just enjoy
the time on the water and don't use what I catch for food... Back in the water they go, more
fish to catch the next time out! Some day I'm gonna get back into fishing and camping... provided I get that winning lottery ticket so that I can afford it!!! hehehehe
